The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award scheme continues to run successfully at BUCHS. We have a large number of our Year 10 students undertaking their Bronze award, a number of our Year 11 students undertaking their Silver award and some of our Sixth Form students undertaking the Gold. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a voluntary, non-competitive programme designed to support the personal and social development of young people. It offers an individual challenge and encourages young people to undertake exciting, constructive, challenging and enjoyable things in their free time. The Award is widely recognised by educationalists and employers.
Over the forthcoming academic year our participants will be tackling a number of core course challenges; developing new skills, becoming a volunteer within their community and mastering navigational techniques to conquer the all-challenging overnight expeditions.
This website will keep students and parents informed of the training and programme activities we offer. You will also be able to access the DofE website directly from here.
We look forward to sharing this fantastic opportunity with many more of our students here at BUCHS.
