PSHE

PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic.

We establish a stimulating, safe and supportive environment for students to flourish in knowledge and understanding of personal and social issues, allowing them to grow in confidence and to be productive members of society.  PSHE content builds year on year in a spiral approach.

In PSHE, we aim to allow students to explore their attitudes, values and beliefs about themselves and to develop the skills, language and strategies necessary to manage these issues should they encounter them in their lives.

We encourage students to grow in the knowledge, understanding and skills to manage their lives now and in the future and to develop personal qualities needed to thrive as an individual, as a family member and as a member of society.  We want students at BUCHS to live safe, productive, capable, responsible and balanced lives as a result of their PSHE experience.  We do this by covering issues around health and well-being, relationships and living in the wider world.

We support students to manage change at key times in their lives.  Through our PSHE teaching, we aim to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem and teach students to identify and manage risk.
